July 13 2023 / Music Composition and Life Ableton Beats + Life in Pittsburgh

Hey everybody, sorry for the long wait. I'm currently attending pre college at CMU, so I've been very busy the past two weeks. However, the week before I came to Pittsburgh I was actually pretty successful in using Ableton. To be completely honest, it had the easiest user interface I've ever seen and used in any software I've downloaded.

I started with the basics of music composition. This included learning what a hi-hat, snare, kick, MIDI, DAW, and all the other keywords needed in making your own music. I tried making a trap beat first because their supposed to be really easy to make, and to my surprise it wasn't bad. I don't have the beat on my computer, but I'll try to get the beat and put it in one of these vlogs sometime. Another thing I've also learned was how the majority of making music was actually just picking the right sounds. Effects also really, really make a difference but I didn't use any of them for my first beat.

Moving on to my experience so far in Pittsburgh, I have to say its been really fun. I've met a lot of cool people here, especially on my dorm floor. Our floor wrestled at night and we always hangout late at night. For my classes, I've been super busy but the workload's been tolerable.
